Personal Branding / Headshots
Are your headshots truly representing you, your business, or your brand?
Professional headshots are crucial for making a memorable first impression and creating an authentic connection to your passion and work.
A well-crafted collection of headshots tells your story and showcases your brand to potential employers long before the first in-person meeting. Whether you need a profile picture for social media or a polished look for your company’s website, the quality and style of your headshot speak volumes about who you are and how you conduct business.
Think about it: an outdoor shot in casual attire gives off a different vibe than a formal portrait in a suit against a solid backdrop. Choosing the right type of photo is an important branding decision. No matter what industry you’re in, a blurry or poorly cropped image can suggest a lack of professionalism and attention to detail—qualities that can reflect on your organization.
Investing in high-quality photographs is essential for building a strong, compelling brand. The right headshot can significantly influence how you are perceived. If you aim to convey a message of quality, your portrait should reflect that. After all, a professional image enhances credibility and helps attract the right clients and partners.
How you present yourself to the world speaks volumes about who you are, both personally and professionally. In today’s social media-driven landscape, having an eye-catching headshot is more essential than ever. Your profile image is often the first impression people have of you, influencing how you're perceived across various platforms, as well as on your organization's website and in conference materials.
I’m here to help you capture the perfect shot, ensuring you leave the session with a variety of high-quality images to choose from. During our pre-photo shoot consultation, we’ll discuss the image you want to project and how to achieve it. Whether you prefer an on-location shoot, a professional “uniform” photo with colleagues, or a simple portrait against a clean backdrop, the choice is yours. If props will help convey your message, we can decide together which ones will enhance your brand.
Investing in a great headshot is not just about a photo; it’s about making a lasting impression that reflects your professional identity. Let’s create something that truly represents you!
Your Session Includes
Consultation
Before your portrait session, we’ll have a relaxed discovery consultation, either over the phone, on Zoom, or in person. This is a chance for us to chat about what you’re hoping to achieve, how you want to look and feel in your portraits, and explore any ideas or themes you might have in mind. It’s a fun and creative process where we make sure everything is tailored to you, so you can feel confident and excited about the experience ahead!
Photo Session
When you arrive at the studio or we meet at a chosen location, we’ll take our time to make sure you feel comfortable and confident throughout the session. Whether you're nervous or just not feeling your best, don't worry—I'm here to guide you through every step. We’ll work at your pace, and I'll show you natural posing techniques that bring out your strengths, so you can relax and enjoy the process.
You’ll have the chance to wear different outfits, giving you a variety of images for social media, headshots, gifts for loved ones, or simply to celebrate yourself. The session usually lasts 1 to 2 hours giving us plenty of time to create a range of beautiful options for you to choose from.
I’ll be there to guide you through everything, from the initial ideas to finding the perfect shot. If you’d like to make it a shared experience, feel free to bring your friends or other staff members - at no extra charge. It’s going to be a fun, memorable experience!
Reveal
Now for the exciting part—the image reveal! About two weeks after your session, I’ll select 10-15 of the very best shots, and give them my signature retouch. We’ll set up a private viewing for you to see the images, and if you can’t make it in person, we can easily connect over Zoom
This is your chance to see your portraits in all their detail, and I know you might feel a mix of excitement and nerves. That’s totally normal! But trust me, these images are going to be worth it. You can take your time looking through them at your own pace and select the ones that resonate with you the most.
There’s absolutely no pressure to purchase anything—what you decide is entirely up to you, and you’re welcome to just enjoy the experience. I promise you’ll end up with amazing images that hold incredible value, and an experience you’ll never regret!

Preparing for your Personal Branding and Headshot Session
Clothes, colours and make-up tips
- Solid colours work best and if possible avoid patterns and busy textures. Black is good, but it's best to avoid white unless it's underneath something. If you regularly receive compliments that you look good in a particular colour, then bring that outfit along.
- Dark clothes attract less attention - the focus should be on your face.
- Make sure your clothes are pressed/ironed and don't be tempted to overdress.
- Avoid jewellery that detracts from your face, and choose simple pieces that flatter you.
- If you are going to get a hair cut, get it a week before the shoot. This way, the cut will grow in a little and you will have some time to get used to how your hair looks and feels.
What to bring
- Two to three outfits - you may want to bring a casual outfit along with two professional office outfits.
- If you wish to bring accessories such as scarfs or additional ties please feel free to do so.
Makeup and Face
- Make-up should be clean and natural - no experimenting at this time for a new look - that's a different session.
- Ladies, wear light foundation and emphasise eyes and lips.
- Try not to use matte styles of makeup. It will dry out your skin.
- Bring your makeup and moisturizer with you to the shoot in case your skin does get dry or you need touchups.
- Bring lip balm or lip gloss with you to help keep lips looking soft.
- The night before brush your lips with your toothbrush to help get rid of any dead skin.
- Don’t do any extreme beauty regimens right before your shoot, like facial peels, tanning or extensive exfoliating. Your skin can look very irritated.
- Get rid of any unwanted hair a few days before your shoot. Clean up brows and upper lip hair.
- FOR MEN. Shave right before you leave for a shoot, unless you want that 'Don Johnson' look. Use cooling gel or aftershave to help with skin irritation and try not to cut yourself.
General
- If you can, drink plenty of water in the week prior to your headshot photoshoot, as this will keep your skin plump, smooth and clear.
- Avoid sun exposure, which can make you look tired and leave your skin irritated.
- Get plenty of sleep to avoid dark circles under your eyes!
- I will not be taking photographs of your feet, so please feel free to wear comfortable footwear.
